Searching by Matter Description

The captions of case are shorted to matter descriptions. For example, "John Jones v. James Smith" would be shortened to "Jones v. Smith."

Captions normally include the parties, and so if you know the name of a party, search by "matter description." Since the name of the party could be in various places in the matter description, be sure to put a percent character (%) both before and after the parties last name. For example %Smith% with find "Smith v Jones," "Jones v Smith, " "John Smith" v. James Jones," " In the Matter of Jones", etc.
